Despite the danger, the operation continues, and a military investigator is urgently dispatched on board. When a new victim is discovered, the *Charles*—a veritable floating city of 1,800 men and 240 women—turns into a trap where a killer, mounting tensions, and unfolding events threaten the crew and perhaps even the country itself.
