What we store

When you create an account, we store your email address and a hashed password (we never store your password itself). We store your watch history (episodes and seasons you mark as watched), the lists you create, and any notes you attach to titles. That's the full extent of the personal data the app keeps.

Cookies and local storage

These server-rendered pages set no cookies for visitors — there is no cookie-consent banner because there is nothing to consent to here. Staff members of the admin panel get a single session cookie needed to stay signed in. The skipintro app itself stores your access and refresh tokens in your browser's local storage, used only to keep you logged in. We do not use any tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies or scripts.

Third-party images

Poster and backdrop images are hotlinked directly from The Movie Database (TMDB) and are not stored on our servers.

Trailers

Trailers play in an embedded YouTube player. We use youtube-nocookie.com, which does not set tracking cookies until you actually start a video; once you do, YouTube may set its own cookies and receives your IP address, under Google's privacy policy rather than ours. If you never press play, nothing is loaded from YouTube.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account yourself from your profile, or ask us to do it through the in-app feedback form. Either way we erase your email address, your password, your watch history, your ratings, your notes, your lists and your notification settings. We keep a dated record that the deletion happened, and nothing else about you.

One exception, stated up front. If you have posted publicly — in discussions about episodes, once that feature exists — those posts stay, and they keep the username they were written under. Removing one side of a conversation makes the rest unreadable for everyone who took part in it. Your posts and your handle are the only things that survive a deletion; everything above is gone. If you would rather not leave a handle behind, delete your posts before you delete your account.

We keep no other record of a deleted account, and a deleted account cannot be restored.

Suspended accounts

We may suspend an account that abuses the service. A suspended account cannot sign in; its data is not deleted, and a suspension can be lifted. Deleting your data remains available to you while suspended — write to us through the feedback form.
